If this isn’t a hate crime, what is?
I checked my news feeds today and came across an article that interested/incensed me:
In Texas, a 17 year old was at a party and three guys asked him if he were gay/bisexual. He answered truthfully “yes”. Guess what happened next: They beat the hell out him. So badly that he needed facial reconstructive surgery. A group of girls had to drag him away from the ‘phobes and take him to the hospital. That’s not where I got really angry though. Here’s what pissed me off:
Police say the investigation is continuing and that a hate crime enhancement may be added.
What I want to know is why the investigation has to continue? Isn’t it completely obvious that he’s a victim of a hate crime?
Maybe I’m biased…but I doubt it.
I Did My Part
Today was the start of early voting in many states, including Arkansas and I didn’t pass up the opportunity to vote without the long lines.
I did my part to take Bush out of the White House.
I did my part to oppose the hate amendment that’s on the ballot. It will probably succeed anyway, but at least I can say that I voted against it.
